The annual graduation exhibition of Tokyo Geidai's animation department begins today! The first instalment is at the Yokohama Museum of Art, from today (Friday 2nd March) to Sunday (4th March). The next instalment will take place from the 21st until the 25th, at the Geidai campus in Ueno.
I wrote the music to two animations this time around - Kazuki Sekiguchi's "The Body Swap Center" and Nicolás Guarín León's "The Missing Shoelace".

Graduation Work "dear alma: part 1 & 2" at Tokyo University of the Arts Senju Campus Graduation Exhibition・修士課程修了制作「dear alma: part 1 & 2」、東京藝術大学千住キャンパスの卒業展示会で出品
In 2017 I worked very hard on making a short video work that utilizes a 5-speaker surround sound system. From towards the end of 2016 until the middle of 2017 I shot footage on 'Single-8' 8mm film, using a camera i found at a market, and then spent a few months crafting sounds and music for it. It's called "dear alma", it's in 2 parts, and it features vocals by the incredible Akai Hirume and storytelling by my old pal Georgie Darvidis. You can see it during a very special set of screenings as part of the graduation exhibition of my uni department, Tokyo University of the Arts' Creativity of Music and Sound, from February 10th to 12th. 2月10~12日、「東京藝術大学 音楽環境創造科／大学院 音楽音響創造・芸術環境創造 卒業制作・論文／修了制作・論文発表会」という凄まじい名前のある、うちの学科の卒業制作展示会にて映像作品「dear alma」を発表します。
2016~2017にかけて撮影した8ミリ映像に5つのスピーカーのために制作した音楽をつけたもので、オーストラリアの友人の語りや赤い日ル女さんの歌声も活用している。特殊なスピーカー配置を用いる故に他の場所で展示することが難しいので、ぜひ今回の芸大の千住キャンパスでの卒展を見逃さぬように。

I was recently lucky enough to be invited to perform at the UltraSuperNew gallery in Harajuku, as part of the live music event "Sonoluminescent vol. 1" on April 22nd.

音楽担当として参加させていただいた藝大アニメ科の作品はとうとう3/3から上映されます！
１発目は横浜、3/11からの２発目は渋谷のユーロスペースで。
一年次作品のプログラムAの中、関口和希の『死ぬほどつまらない映画』と、第八期生修了作品の中から井上幸次郎の『Opening Sesame』は僕が音楽やってました。（詳細：http://animation.geidai.ac.jp/08zoom/works/index.html）
あらゆる面で全力で頑張った修了生（言うまでもなく音環生も）がこの優れた作品群で世に出、大きなスクリーンで観る機会がこの後稀にないので、今回の上映会を絶対に見逃しちゃダメ也。

Two animation films I had the pleasure of writing the music for - Kazuki Sekiguchi's "Self-Honest Me" and Koujiro Inoue's "Opening Sesame" - are being premiered in two different places, starting with Yokohama this Friday and Cinema Eurospace in Shibuya from next Saturday 11th, as part of their graduation exhibition.
It's an extremely rare chance to see a bunch of animated shorts of this exceptionally high standard in such high quality cinema establishments, and a limited run of DVD pressings means they'll likely be difficult to see in future, so I would highly recommend coming down to check them out. For everyone wondering what I've been so busy with over the past few months, this is it.
English subtitles are shown as well so even if Nihongo is a no go you're good to go.

Really really excited to have the opportunity to perform alongside revered contemporary dancers Saori Hala and Yu Okamoto, at the closing event of an exhibition of works by none other than Robert Frank on November 24th.
I'll be performing "uninstall / disassemble", a work for numerous analog and electronic apparatuses in six-speaker surround.
